Genre, innovation and creative freedom
A production company born out of creative necessity, dedicated to stories that demand freedom, risk, and a distinct identity.

ORIGINS
Pokeepsie Films was founded in 2014 out of Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang’s shared passion for film. From the outset, the company set out to support both emerging and established filmmakers drawn to fantasy, thrillers, horror, and comedy, developing each project with its own distinct identity and creative approach.
The company was conceived as a space for creative freedom, built around projects with a strong identity. A place to develop stories that resist conventional formulas and require ambition, risk, and a singular point of view.
Our journey began with Shrew’s Nest, which received three Goya Award nominations and won Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Titles such as The Bar and Skins, both presented at the 2017 Berlinale, and Perfect Strangers went on to establish Pokeepsie Films as a prominent presence in Spanish cinema. Our commitment to genre filmmaking continued with films including 70 Big Ones, Venicephrenia, The Chalk Line, and Four’s a Crowd, and gained further international recognition with Venus, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and was selected as the opening film of the 2022 Sitges Film Festival.
With the HBO series 30 Coins, we established our presence in large-scale international production. Its first episode was presented at the 2020 Venice International Film Festival. This milestone was followed by 1992, Álex de la Iglesia’s first limited series for Netflix, and Santuario, for Atresplayer, one of the 17 international productions selected for Berlinale Series Market Selects 2025.
However, our greatest success to date came with the Culpables trilogy. With more than 100 million viewers on Prime Video, each film reached number one on the platform in more than 170 countries.Your Fault also became Prime Video’s most-watched International Original. The trilogy has grown into one of the most significant international phenomena in streaming entertainment.
The Mortimer and the Disney+ series Entrepreneurs are among our most recent releases. In 2026, the highly anticipated Enfrentados: Marfil, the first adaptation of Mercedes Ron’s Drawn Together duology, will premiere. Upcoming releases also include La Cuidadora, directed by Álex de la Iglesia for Netflix, and Enfrentados: Ébano, the second installment in the series.
We founded Pokeepsie Films to champion distinctive stories and the creators behind them.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Pokeepsie Films, every project begins with a sense of purpose, care, and a genuine passion for storytelling. Creativity and diversity drive us, and we are committed to bringing distinctive ideas with a strong identity to life.
We are a family. Over the years, we have built a team of professionals who work with us from one project to the next. The trust we have developed over time turns every shot into a home, a place where we can work, create, and grow together.
Here, our passion for film is reflected not only in what we do, but also in how we do it: with enthusiasm and the conviction that every story deserves care, time, and our full commitment.
We don’t follow trends. We produce the projects we’re passionate about.
